Website fixes and improvements for small businesses

Website fixes, mobile layout improvements, enquiry forms and integrations. Work remotely with a web developer. Scope and estimate agreed after reviewing your site.

Start with the task.

We start with a specific issue and an acceptance check. An enquiry should reach the manager, the order button should work on a phone, or a new service page should fit the existing structure. I review the available source code or CMS and propose a defined scope. A complete rebuild is not always necessary.

Website fixes and improvements for small businesses: what the work includes

  • Review of the reported issue, CMS, source code and available integrations
  • An agreed list of fixes and acceptance criteria
  • Changes to an enquiry form, individual section or user journey
  • Mobile layout improvements for the agreed pages and elements
  • Notifications or CRM enquiry delivery where a suitable API is available
  • Checks of affected pages, links and forms after the changes
  • A backup before deployment and a short record of completed work

Project boundaries

Scope follows a technical review. Licences, hosting, paid APIs, platform migration and ongoing support are estimated separately. Support for a particular CMS depends on its version, code and restrictions. Recovering access to accounts you do not own is outside the service.

How the project moves forward

  1. 01Send your website link and explain what is broken or missing
  2. 02I review the technical setup and clarify access without asking for passwords in a public form
  3. 03We agree the changes, price, timeline and acceptance checks
  4. 04We verify changes on a copy or test version, then deploy with a rollback option

What determines the price

The cost depends on the condition of the code, whether the issue can be reproduced and how many user journeys are affected. Fixing one form and rebuilding a checkout are different scopes. We agree the review first; any separately charged diagnostic work is discussed before it begins. Implementation is estimated after that review.

What affects the timeline

Timing depends on source-code access, reproducibility and external services. Urgent issues are first assessed for risk and safe deployment. API changes and waiting for third-party support are considered separately.

What acceptance looks like

We verify the agreed pages on mobile and desktop, navigation, required form fields and error handling. The acceptance list follows the agreed scope; new features are estimated separately.

Handover and support

Before work starts we agree source-code rights, account ownership, documentation, the period for fixing agreed defects and support conditions. Further development and third-party platform changes are separate tasks.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order a small website fix without a full redesign?

Yes. We can start with a form, button, section, mobile layout or notifications. Before estimating, I check whether the existing platform supports the change and which related journeys need testing.

Can you improve a website built by another developer?

Yes, if you are authorised to modify it and have the required access. I first review the source code or CMS, backup and deployment process. For a closed platform, we discuss the available options before work starts.

What should I send if my enquiry form is broken?

Send the page URL, the expected result and the steps that reproduce the error. The time of failure and an error message without customer personal data are useful. Do not send passwords or tokens through the enquiry form.

Will page URLs and SEO settings be preserved?

For local fixes, we preserve existing URLs, metadata and important links. If the structure needs to change, redirects and checks after deployment are agreed separately. Search rankings cannot be guaranteed.
